Briana DeJesus suffered every mother’s worst nightmare when her 1-year-old daughter Stella underwent surgery on Thursday, August 16. The Teen Mom 2 star revealed exclusive details on the scary procedure to RadarOnline.com.
“She has septic arthritis,” DeJesus, 24, told RadarOnline.com of the joint infection. “It’s common in kids.”
While the infection is under control after the procedure, DeJesus explained how it “could always come back.”
DeJesus’ baby daddy Luis Hernandez has been absent from his daughter’s life. On the Teen Mom 2 reunion, DeJesus explained how he moved back to New York. Fortunately for DeJesus, she revealed on a previous episode how he does pay for her daycare.

“He knows,” DeJesus said of the procedure. “I’m sure he will call or visit.”
This isn’t the first health scare for Stella. In September 2017, DeJesus told RadarOnline.com about her daughter’s heart condition. “She has holes in her heart," she said. "It’s been difficult dealing with Stella right now. We just have to monitor her breathing."
In August, DeJesus, who is also mother to Nova with ex Devoin Austin, shared good news that her daughter no longer has heart murmurs and that all of the holes are closed.
