Bush was on top of the world when this family photo was taken in 2014 with wife, Sydney, and three daughters — Josie, Lillie and Mary Bush. According to a family friend, "Everyone who knows Billy knows how much he loves his wife and his family."
But after an audio recording leaked on October 7, 2016 of Bush and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, engaged in a vulgar and distasteful conversation while on an Access Hollywood bus, the source said, "Sydney was so upset and devastated when she heard the tape."
"Any woman would be bothered by her husband talking like that," the insider added.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Bush was suspended by NBC as a co-host of TODAY — which films in NYC — on Sunday. On Oct. 10, the embarrassed news veteran was spotted looking extremely upset while out with his oldest daughter in L.A.. However, his wife was noticeably absent from the outing.
According to the source, "Billy told his friends that he was getting more sh*t at home than he did at work and that Sydney flipped out over it."
But by that time it was simply too late! "Billy didn't even believe it was him when the recording first leaked," the source told RadarOnline.com. "He told Sydney he thought he was being set up."
