Shookus is an Emmy-winning producer who has long worked for Saturday Night Live.
Affleck, 44, and Shookus “met some time ago when Ben was hosting SNL, and there was an immediate spark,” an insider told Radar. “Ben and Lindsay flirted and stayed in touch through Ben’s appearances” on the show.
“The relationship cooled, but they stayed in touch,” noted the insider, adding that after Affleck’s split from Jen Garner, he reached out to Shookus and they hooked up again.
“They had secret meetings at hotels in New York and Canada, but never went out for fear of being photographed together,” spilled the source. “Whenever they met, Lindsay always went in one way and Ben went in another.”
Although Ben’s reps denied their hookups, the source said the clandestine couple often communicated through a secret email account they had set up.

Affleck and Shookus recently went on a whirlwind trip together. “Lindsay flew in from Los Angeles and spent four nights in London at the same luxury hotel as Ben!” a source said, adding that on June 29, the new couple enjoyed a decadent seven-course meal at the swanky Gymkhana Indian restaurant in Mayfair.
