Who is Emma Watson dating? The question has kept fans guessing since her first relationship was revealed in 2006. Her Harry Potter alter ego, Hermione Granger, used her brains and magical wizardry to stay ahead of her classmates but also took a more intellectual approach to dating than most teens … the same can be said about her approach to her real life relationships.

October 2018 to present: Brendan Wallace

The actress has been pretty good at hiding her personal life, and her budding romance with Wallace is proof … so, stay tuned! Who is he? Marie Claire discovered that he is a cofounder and managing partner for Fifth Wall Ventures Management — a venture capital firm.
January 2018 to May 2018, June 2018: Chord Overstreet
The Glee veteran must have been hitting the high notes because the notoriously shy actress — when it comes to her relationships — was seen out and about with Chord Overstreet. The couple dated for six months (as chronicled by Us Weekly) and called it quits when it became clear that they weren’t in the same place in their lives. But they were not completely over… Us Weekly caught the pair kissing a month after the split. That reconnect was short-lived. Within a few months Watson was seen with a new gent. Nothing cements the fact that one relationship is over than another beginning.
October 2015 to November 2017: William “Mack” Knight
Tech start-up expert William Knight and The Circle star were an item for two years (their first date was to the Broadway smash, Hamilton), and it seemed as if Watson may have found “the one.” She didn’t. They broke up (which Us Weekly exclusively reported) for reasons that were never made public. Imagine that …
June to September 2015: Roberto Aguire
Pretty Little Liars star Roberto Aguire and Watson met while she was shooting Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005 (he was an intern on the set) and were immediate friends, according to E! News. A decade later, in June of 2015, they decided to see if there was anything deeper. By September, they realized that their relationship was firmly in the friend zone, and that’s where they remain.
December 2013 to December 2014: Matthew Janney
Oxford University student and rugby stand-out Matthew Janney scored a spot in Watson’s heart for just a year. According to Us Weekly, their breakup was “horrendous.” To combat the rough split, Watson reportedly took a vow of silence for a week — just to sort things out. “I felt really uncomfortable,” she shared with Us Weekly. “Even before my relationship ended, I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself.”

The Harry Potter veteran and Oxford University student Will Adamowicz were hot and heavy for three years before calling it quits. The two were photographed at the Coachella Music Festival as Us Weekly reported. The Bling Ring star revealed to Glamour that attending the music fest and dating in general brings immense challenges. “My friend got me tickets to Coachella for my birthday, and what am I going to say? ‘No, I’m not going to go because I don’t want to be photographed?’ But it was a huge crowd, and I thought there was no way anyone could get pictures of me, but somehow they found me.”
August to November 2011: Johnny Simmons
Johnny Simmons and the lead actress for The Perks of Being a Wallflower met on the teen-centric set, as Us Weekly reported. As is the case with many young relationships, things just didn’t work out, and they split. Yahoo UK, distance was the problem as she was living in Britain, and he was in America.
Summer 2010: George Craig
Being a spokesperson for Burberry had its benefits. The Beauty and the Beast star met musician George Craig while shooting an ad campaign for Burberry. She ended up in his band One Night Only’s music video for “Say You Don’t Want It.” The press-shy star, at least when it comes to her romantic life, spoke to Radio One saying, “When I was in the States, George was taking me through a lot of his music as he was recording it. I’m a big fan. Everything he did was amazing.” Marie Claire discovered that the pair had split in late September.
November 2009 to May 2010: Rafael Cebrián
Spanish musician Rafael Cebrián and the teen (at the time) star dated casually for several months, as The Telegraph discovered. He attended Brown University (as did she), and they were spotted at a New York Rangers hockey game.
August 2008 to February 2009: Jay Barrymore
Watson was single for a year, and then met British businessman Jay Barrymore. The Perks of Being a Wallflower star and Barrymore were all sorts of lovey-dovey until the distance between the two became too much. He was UK-based, and she had come to America to study at Rhode Island’s Brown University. It was possible that their age difference did not help things as the financier was seven years older than the actress. The Richest reported that meeting her next fellow was the reason why she and Barrymore ended.
2008: Francis Boulle
Watson and Francis Boulle dated for a brief time, according to Popsugar. He was an actor (having appeared in Made in Chelsea) as well as a diamond heir who felt that dating her might make his identity linked to the star. “I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I’ve done,” he told Heat magazine in October 2011 (as quoted in Metro). “I chose not to pursue it any longer because I didn’t want to be the boyfriend of some child actress.” Ouch.
2006 to 2007: Tom Ducker
Watson’s first “public” relationship happened when she was a teenager — it was with Tom Ducker. They were an item for 12 months (according to The Daily Mail) before sources close to the actress said she and Ducker “drifted apart.” They remain good friends. Watson’s representative revealed, “They just drifted apart as teenagers do. Emma is now just concentrating on her A-levels and the new film.” She was distraught as he was her “first love.”
