As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 35-year-old was found dead in her Florence, Italy apartment on Saturday, with two fractures to her skull and signs of strangulation.

Now, DNA analysis of a condom and cigarette butt found in Olsen's bathroom have led Italian officials to charge a suspect in the case, The New York Daily News reports.

Tidiane Cheik Diaw, a 25-year-old Senegalese man living illegally in Italy, was caught using Olsen's phone with his own SIM card, after investigators tied his DNA to evidence at the scene.

After poring through security camera footage and collecting witness testimonies, police determined that Olsen and Diaw met early Friday, Jan. 8, at a Montecarla club.

The two reportedly went back to Florida-born Olsen's apartment, where they had consensual sex. Authorities say it's highly possible that both parties had been drinking and taking drugs.

The blows to Olsen's skull were apparently so hard, they alone could have killed the young artist. Evidence shows she was additionally strangled with some form of chord or rope.
