Johnny's friend, comedian Doug Stanhope spoke out soon after news broke, claiming that his buddy is being blackmailed. In a guest column for The Wrap, Stanhope claimed that he had been at Johnny's house the night of the alleged incident. "Heard was threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn't agree to her terms," Stanhope said. "Blackmail is what I would imagine other people might put it, including the manner in which he is now being vilified."

Heard's lawyer fired back at Stanhope in a statement sent to TheWrap. "The allegations against Ms. Heard are absolutely and unequivocally false," attorney Peter Sample said. Doug Stanhope's blackmail claim "has no basis in reality and is nothing but the typical celebrity muckraking for profit. It is highly offensive and disturbing that you would choose to publish it in the first place."

Meanwhile, according to a new report, Heard had shouted "stop hitting me" during her alleged altercation with Depp — but two security guards on waiting in the foyer of their residence claim Depp was more than 20 feet away from her when they rushed into the apartment.

The pair reportedly ran into the couple's residence "within a second" after hearing Heard's scream, but discovered the actress on the couple's couch and Depp at least 20 feet away in the kitchen.

The guards also claim that Heard frequently attempted to "attack" Depp, agreeing with police by claiming she had no visible injuries after calling police last week.

Of course, when she arrived to court on Friday, Heard sported a large bruise over her eye, which she claimed was due to Depp throwing an iphone at her face.

But according to Depp's ex, Vanessa Paradis, the actor — and father to her two children — has never been violent. The French singer commented that Depp is "sensitive and loving" in a new statement, sharing: "In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years."
