Insiders said, “He does not want the marriage to end. He loves Amal, and he loves their children. This is excruciating!”
The Clooneys had just completed an all-cash $350,000 deal to acquire the two-villa plot, which was made through a trust to keep the sale hush-hush, according to sources.
But the RadarOnline.com source spilled: “The villas are located in an ultra-luxury complex. It’s the kind of place where their neighbors are billionaires, very secluded. Everything is the finest in all of Italy. They will be in very good company.”
A broker involved with the deal said he had signed a nondisclosure agreement and wasn’t able to reveal the buyer. But off-the-record he laughingly bragged that “Mr. Clooney” liked the house very much!

A source who visited the property described how it was “perfect” for George, as it has its own helipad and is located close to a landing strip, the local marina and a golf course.
As The National ENQUIRER reported in the Dec. 3, 2018, issue, George's fashionable wife had moved out — and friends feared the power couple was headed for a costly split! The two hadn’t been photographed together since Aug. 11 — and sources said they were battling nonstop over the twins. A snitch spilled: “This could lead to an all-out divorce and custody war.”
In an ominous hint at their troubles, insiders say the pair failed to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary together in September. “People already thought it was weird they didn’t spend their anniversary together, and it definitely raised eyebrows when Amal missed a big party for George’s Casamigos tequila brand, while business partner Rande Gerber’s wife, Cindy Crawford, was there,” tattled a spy. “There was talk that a divorce could already be underway.”
With tensions rising, Amal had left the couple’s sprawling English estate to find “peace” in a rented flat in London before escaping to Sardinia, sources claimed. “Remorseful George is telling Amal he will do whatever his wife wants as long as she comes home,” said the insider. “He will change his ways and stop driving her up a wall. He has let her know in no uncertain terms that he will ‘toe the line’ and be more involved. He will do whatever it takes to make her happy!"
George has reached out to her and begged, "Let’s get back together for the kids!" according to an insider. George and Amal love their 20-month-old son and daughter like crazy, sources said — but he admits raising the two toddlers has taken every ounce of strength he has.
Weary dad George has confessed to being so tired he breaks down and cries “four times a day” out of exhaustion. “He just wants their separation to be over,” said the insider. “He doesn’t want this to end in divorce court!”
