All About That Bass: Is Kim Kardashian's Butt Real?

Kim Kardashian’s most famous feature might be her butt. But one of the accusations leveled at her is that it’s fake. Is that true? Does Kim have a fake rear?

There are enough images of it over the years, and fans and critics alike have all noted the differences through time. But are the differences simply due lighting and angles? Has Kardashian’s butt always been bootylicious? Or has she had help down there?

1. The Rumor Mill Begins.

It’s long been thought that Kardashian had butt implants — one source even went so far as to tell RadarOnline.com that her butt-implants had been removed. But was that source being honest? Had she ever had implants to begin with?

2. X-Rays.

In 2011, Kardashian decided to try putting the rumors to rest by having an x-ray taken on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The x-ray showed no implants, but an MYA surgeon said, “this does not rule out fat transfer/fat injections to the buttocks. This would not show on an x-ray as it is the patients’ own body fat and not an implant."

3. She Persisted.

The fake butt rumors persisted. In 2014, after giving birth to North West, Kardashian tweeted “I’m seeing all these nonsense tabloids claiming I have butt implants-injections. Get a life! Using pics of me 15lbs skinnier (before I had my baby) comparing to me now! I still have weight to lose.”

4. A Source Says.

A source stepped forward to tell Cosmopolitan that "Kim had lipo on her legs and the doctor moved the fat into her butt. That's why it didn't show up on the X-ray."

5. Brazilian Butt Lift.

One rumor suggests that Kardashian has undergone a Brazilian butt life — a procedure in which fat is removed from one area of the body and injected into the buttocks for a rounder backside.

6. Body Mods.

Have the procedures she’s undergone impacted her derriere? One source told RadarOnline.com that “Kim has been using this brand-new procedure that basically injects heat into fat cells so that they are destroyed. She has lost a majority of her weight with this and with another injection therapy called Mesotherapy.”

7. Kim’s Explanation.

So what does Queen Kardashian herself say? She claims her big bum is the result of being pregnant twice as well as cortisone injections for symptoms of psoriasis.

8. Cortisone Indent.

So what do people make of the indentation in her butt that gives the impression of implants? Kardashian claims the doctors told her the cortisone injection came with “a one in a billion chance that you will get a huge indent in your butt.” And wouldn’t you know it? “Of course I get a huge indent on my butt.”

9. Sculpted Perfection.

According to Vogue, her trainer, Melissa Alcantara, says “weighted hip thrusts, which seriously work glutes and hamstring muscles" are the secret to keeping her butt fit.

10. Met Gala.

Us Weekly reported that a two-week “plant based diet” created her hourglass figure.

11. How To Achieve A Met Gala Look.

Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg, a plastic surgeon, says Kardashian’s look can be achieved via breast augmentation, liposuction and fat transfer and, of course, a corset. He said, “You suck out the fat, you purify it and you inject it into the butt or hip.” And it only costs $20,000.

12. No More Butt Of Jokes.

So is Kardashian looking to make that butt go away anytime soon? A source told RadarOnline.com that she is planning on gradually removing the fat that was injected into it. The procedure, if she has it, will happen slowly to ensure nothing goes wrong.
