"Our loss of Alan is a shocking sadness for our extended family," the Days of Our Lives star told RadarOnline.com. "We were all together for Thanksgiving, laughing, eating and dancing. I am heartbroken for my sons who were so close to their dad, and for Alan's son Carter and wife Tanya."

"He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family," Loring continued. "We were together for 16 years and shared memories I will always cherish."

Loring and Alan were married from 1970 to 1983 and share sons Brennan, 41, and "Blurred Lines" singer Robin, 39, together.
