Presenting the first award of the night, actors Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum came in with a bang. Hill dressed up as the bear from The Revenant, a controversial topic leading up to the film's release. All in jest, the Wolf of Wall Street actor thanked director Alejandro G. Iñárritu for "taking a chance" on an unknown bear.

While Mel Gibson's appearance at the Golden Globes wasn't necessarily a surprise, it certainly proved to be shocking. Awards show host Ricky Gervais managed to fit in quite a few jabs about the actor as well, poking fun at his drinking and infamous anti-Semitic slurs in previous years.

In an attempt to poke fun at Steve Harvey's Miss Universe flub, Jamie Foxx announced that Best Original Score went to Straight Outta Compton, despite the fact that the biopic wasn't nominated. "I'm sorry folks, I made a mistake," Foxx joked. "It's right here on the card." The real winner was Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight.
