In a shocking development to come after months of rumors and reports regarding Putin’s deteriorating health, the 71-year-old Russian despot allegedly suffered a heart attack in Moscow on Sunday night and had to be resuscitated.

According to Daily Star, Putin was taken to an intensive care unit inside his official residence. He was allegedly left in “stable but serious condition.”
Meanwhile, the Kremlin was left scrambling to organize a succession plan should the Russian leader succumb to his heart condition and die before a successor is put in place.
Sources familiar with the situation told Daily Star that Putin’s allies formed a “knightly round table” to run the country and that the “knightly round table” would be headed by top security advisor Nikolai Patrushev and a Putin body double.
“People privy to the current situation from the president’s inner circle held consultations on Monday with representatives of several elite groups, trying to determine the possibility of consolidating into the prototype of a certain 'Politburo' headed by the current Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev and control over Putin’s double, who will 'temporarily' represent the president,” one source told the outlet.
Sources said that Putin was resuscitated and brought back to “stable but serious condition.”
“The structure of the supposed compromise between the main elite groups looks very shaky since everyone sees the possibilities of implementing this idea in their own way,” another Kremlin insider added.
“Now a group of representatives of the leadership of the security bloc, led by Nikolai Patrushev, is generously making promises to organize almost a kind of knightly round table, where everyone will have the opportunity to strengthen their positions in governing the country, and all decisions will be made on the basis of consensus.”
But other sources familiar with the matter warned that the “knightly round table” idea would not work because “Putin was the center of balance” in Moscow.
One particularly skeptical Kremlin source noted how it “doesn’t matter who takes over” for Putin because “it will all just fall apart anyway.”

The Kremlin was left scrambling to organize a succession plan for the Russian despot.
“All these beautiful promises, even if they work to unite elite groups, will do so before the first big conflict, which cannot be avoided due to irreconcilable contradictions and an understanding of how a system of power should exist without Putin,” a source said.
“It was Putin who was the center of balance of the system, and no double, of course, can replace him in this capacity,” they added.

The 71-year-old Russian leader was said to be “plugged into machines” and his doctors are “not optimistic” about a potential recovery.
