A man in Texas has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his wife 11 times inside their home, put out a cigarette on her forehead and tried gouging her eyes out with his thumbs before turning the knife on himself during a standoff with police, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Around 8:30 p.m. on July 12, police were dispatched to a home in Moody, as Front Page Detectives reported.

Once at the scene, an officer found 47-year-old Trey Williams in the backyard. Authorities said he was kneeling, holding a bloody knife and wearing a shirt “saturated in blood.”

The officer ordered Williams to drop the knife, but he allegedly failed to comply while “making inaudible utterances,” KWTX reported.

More police officers arrived and when Williams was ordered to put the knife down again, he replied, “Nope … I can’t be helped. I lost the love of my life,” authorities said.

Police claimed that 13 minutes into the standoff, Williams grabbed the knife with both hands while he was kneeling, then “fell forward, placing the handle of the knife against the ground, landing full force on the blade of his knife with what appeared to be his eye,” according to KWTX.

Police rendered aid to Williams until paramedics arrived and transported him to Baylor Scott & White Temple via helicopter.

Inside the house, police found the man’s wounded wife, who was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center via ambulance, officials said.

The victim’s son and father, who reportedly live in the home where the attack took place, witnessed the incident, officials said.

The son told police he heard screams coming from the living room, which is when he saw Williams on top of his mother smoking a cigarette. Williams put the cigarette out on the victim’s forehead and the woman yelled at her son, “He’s stabbing me. He’s stabbing me. Go get your grandad."

The woman was eventually able to wrestle herself free from Williams and ran to her bedroom with her son, police said. She locked themselves in the room and called 911.

At the hospital, doctors told investigators that the victim suffered 11 lacerations to her arms, hands, back, stomach and scalp.

When speaking with investigators, the woman said her and her husband had been arguing for weeks and the night of the attack, she told Williams he needed to leave her home. Williams then lunged at the woman and pushed both of his thumbs into her eyes, KWTX reported.

The woman told police she pleaded with Williams to stop because “she loved him,” to which he allegedly replied, “I love you, too, but there’s no coming back from this,” authorities said.

Police said they recovered three knives and a bloody pair of scissors at the scene.

Williams was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence, police said.

He was booked into jail on July 21 after being released from the hospital and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
