'Southern Charm' Season 8 Gets Greenlight, Filming Begins In September With Brand New Cast Members

Southern Charm is coming back, baby! RadarOnline.com is told season 8 is confirmed, with production set to begin in September.

Bravoholics were left with questions surrounding the reality show's future after filming for season 7 was shut down due to the pandemic last year.

Show insiders tell RadarOnline.com, Southern Charm is "definitely" coming back, and they're adding new members to the cast.

With one source saying the newbies have been vetted and "approved" by certain OG cast members.

"It should be a bigger cast and more fun this year," another source reveals to RadarOnline.com.

As for who will be joining Southern Charm stars Kathryn Dennis, Shep Rose, Craig Conover, Austen Kroll, and the rest of the gang, rumor has it Leva Bonaparte's friend Venita Aspen may be getting an upgrade to full-time this season.

Venita immediately became a fan favorite last season when she tackled tough subjects like Black Lives Matter.

A Bravo fan Instagram page @realmomsofbravo pointed out they heard Venita was becoming an official cast member, along with three other unidentified newbies -- and RadarOnline.com is told the blog's prediction is "not far off."

In March, Shep spoke out about the show's future, revealing no one from production had given them the greenlight for another season.

"We haven’t gotten an offer to do the next season yet,” he said on the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast.

When asked whether he'd sign on and continue filming the show, Shep seemed like he'd be okay either way.

“I wouldn’t be the one to sink the ship,” he joked. “I’m not saying I have that power. I don’t want it to end. But I wouldn’t cry myself to sleep if it did. Let’s put it that way.”

"But a lot of people’s livelihood have to do with the show,” Shep continued. “Not only my cast members but people up higher. So I don’t want to kill it but I get frustrated at times. And every season I … well Cameran. Every season Cameran threatened to quit. Every single season. And she actually did last year.”

Shep is, of course, referencing Southern Charm OG and fan-favorite Cameran Eubanks, who made her shocking departure after season 6.
