R. Kelly Moans His Clothes Don't Fit After Gaining Weight Behind Bars, Says He's Too Broke To Pay For Court Costs Ahead Of Sex Trafficking Trial
R. Kelly has gained so much weight behind bars that he can no longer fit into his clothing.
The disgraced R&B star whined to a judge ahead of his sex trafficking trial, claiming he no longer has appropriate attire to wear in court.
R. Kelly appeared before Judge Ann Donnelly in a Brooklyn court on Tuesday and alleged he's broke.
“His finances are depleted,” his lawyer Devereaux Cannick told the court.
The Grammy winner's attorney also claims his client's financial situation is so dire that he can no longer afford to pay for court documents.
“I ask the court to give him daily copies of the transcripts," Cannick stated.
That's not the only thing R. Kelly's legal team requested from Judge Donnelly.
When it comes to the I Believe I Can Fly singer's appearance, R. Kelly's attorney says he has “gained weight since he’s been incarcerated.”
“We need measurements for appropriate attire for his trial,” Cannick said. “We’re trying to get his measurements. How can we take his size?”
The judge wasn't having any of it and shot back, stating, “I’m not taking his size."

R. Kelly's weight and his money woes weren't the only topics of conversation ahead of his sex trafficking trial.
Judge Donnelly ruled in prosecutors' favor, allowing their team to present evidence that will allegedly prove R. Kelly had “sexual contact” with singer Aaliyah when she was as young as 13 years old.
He's being accused of hiring an entourage to find young women and girls for the singer to have sexual relations with.
R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago in 2019 by both the feds and NYPD.
The singer has been locked up at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for the past two years.
He has always maintained his innocence.
Jury selection for R. Kelly's trial begins on Monday.
