Punished and Forgotten: Prince Andrew's Despair About New Amazon Film Has Royals 'Anxious' Over 'Depressed' Duke's Well-Being
Prince Andrew is not doing well mentally, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"He has given up his HRH, his military titles, his role in public life... I think he sometimes just wonders how long the punishment will go on for," a friend of the disgraced royal shared.
Andrew is the subject of a new, three-part movie, set to release on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, September 19, called A Very Royal Scandal. It explores the days leading up to the disgraced Duke of York's "disastrous" November 2019 interview with Emily Maitlis.
In the run-up to the project drop, a pal of the Duke added, "He is depressed and Sarah and the kids are anxious about this show. You have to remember that he absolutely insists he has no memory of ever meeting Giuffre and denies having sex with her. He has never been found guilty of anything."
They then bluntly observed, "He knows he f----- up and he has taken his punishment."
The York family confidant then shared how the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also "anxious" as the film's premiere approached.
"Put yourself in their shoes," they continued. "This film is going to traduce their father and if they say anything to defend him it will just make it worse."
One of Beatrices' pals told The Daily Beast, "There is nothing good you can say about it all. It’s ghastly for all of them. The girls are just getting on with their lives."
As for the project, the Duke will be portrayed by Welsh actor Michael Sheen, who reportedly approaches his interpretation of the Jeffrey Epstein associate as "rude, aggressive and offensive."

The star of The Queen got real with an outlet when asked if he would ever want to live Andrew's life.
"No," the award-winning star told an outlet when asked if he would ever want to be royal. "The fairytale image of it seems so extraordinary – living in palaces and having everything you want and servants and all that kind of stuff. But the reality seems to be that there are far more restrictions than there are freedoms. No amount of wealth or assets or privilege can make up for not being able to have basic sort of freedoms that a lot of us take for granted. So no, I would not want to have that life."
Andrew's well-being is also the source of new reports suggesting the ex-working royal is "wasting precious resources" and "his time" barricaded within its palatial walls.
"Andrew seems to spend most of his time either riding around the huge estate on horseback or reportedly sitting in front of a big screen watching live coverage of planes landing and taking off," veteran royal reporter Jennie Bond shared.
