Outer Banks actress Madelyn Cline is opening up about her newfound fame!
The 23-year-old star graced the cover of the first-ever cover of Grazia Gazette: The Hamptons and got candid about entering the spotlight with her Netflix cast members.
Shooting to fame practically overnight didn't come easy, revealing she leaned on her closest allies -- her cast -- for support.
“The first season of the show felt like going and shooting an indie,” Cline told the magazine. “It was very tight-knit, so the filming of the first season felt very intimate in the best way possible."
"We really vibe with our crew and our cast, obviously. We immediately had chemistry, and we immediately started hanging out, which is amazing," she revealed.
Their bond is unmatched, especially because the mostly unknown cast found stardom at the same time.
“We all kind of started in the same place when we got the show,” she explained, “and we just stuck together. We're all going through the same thing and it just helps to have people around you who understand and who are there for you. We keep each other grounded and we hype each other up. We’re all each other’s best hype man.”
Cline is no stranger to the industry; in fact, she started out as a child model.
That doesn't mean she finds it easy with all eyes on her, especially when it comes to the pressures of social media.
"I’m still learning,” Cline admitted, while explaining that when it comes to engaging with fans in a healthy way, "it’s new territory for me.”
“The expectation to share everything is intimidating,” she continued. "It’s a constant pressure that takes real thoughtfulness to navigate.”
Cline is hoping for longevity in the cutthroat industry, adding that she at the career of her idol Scarlett Johansson for guidance.
The Outer Bank star is also focused on living a healthy lifestyle amid the chaos of fame.
She finds journaling, meditation, workouts, and other forms of self-care are imperative to staying grounded.
“I’ve met a lot of women in my time here in LA – really independent, powerful women – and I admire that. Bottom line, just being able to be around that kind of energy and women who are such bosses is incredible,” Cline said.
Watch Cline in season 2 of Outer Banks when it debuts on Netflix this summer.
