Twitter Is Coming For Nicki Minaj After Rapper Reveals She's Tested Positive For Covid-19, Gives X-Rated Example To Back Hesitation For Vaccination
The 38-year-old rapper took to social media on Monday to reveal she's tested positive but is still doing "research" as to whether she wants to get the shot or not — and used the most bizarre story to back up her hesitation.
Her positive result forced her to miss MTV's VMAs on Sunday. Her choice not to get vaccinated makes her ineligible to join tonight's Met Gala festivities, something Nicki seems to care less about.
When a fan defended Nicki for being MIA at the VMAs, claiming the star was "scared" of Covid, Nicki responded, "I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID?"
Explaining how grueling it is to be quarantined from her one-year-old son, Nicki added, "Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama?" but she's still not sold on the vaccine.
"Get vaccinated,” she put in quotes in response to haters, continuing that "Drake had just told me he got covid w|THE VACCINE tho so chile."
Nicki also dumped on the Met Gala, writing, "They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now."

She seemed to be giving mixed signals because while the rapper told her followers to "wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one," she also contributed to spreading eye-raising horror stories about the vaccine.
"My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding," Nicki wrote, adding, "make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."
Immediately, Nicki's followers went off on the rapper, with many clowning the star over her ball story.
"Sorry to nicki minaj’s cousin’s friend whose alibi for getting swollen nuts and having his wedding called off is about to fall apart under the intense scrutiny of the global media," one Twitter user joked.
"It’s important to check your sources carefully before spreading misinformation. Might also have a variety of diseases, especially stds. If you want to talk to a brilliant scientist who knows a lot about this, I know one," warned another, referencing her story.
"As nicki minaj's research assistant for the past 18 months, let me be the first to say that i'm excited for our first meeting," one Twitter user joked.
