NeNe Leakes' late husband Gregg will forever be celebrated at the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum's restaurant and lounge, and they are starting on Friday for the entire weekend.
RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the original event for Gregg that was scheduled tonight at The Linnethia Lounge in Duluth, Georgia, has been moved given the news of his tragic passing, and we're told the new event will be bigger and better than planned.
We spoke with NeNe's eatery, who told us, it's still business after losing Gregg to his long battle with colon cancer on Wednesday.
RadarOnline.com has learned the venue will remain open during normal business hours — until 2 AM — tonight, and karaoke will go on as planned.
But when it comes to the Afro Beats Celebration that was planned to take place, Linnethia tells us the real party for Gregg will be spread out between three days — starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.
While details surrounding the weekend event are still being hammered out, someone at the lounge tells us, this is exactly what NeNe's late husband would want.
"We are always going to do our best to honor Gregg," an employee told RadarOnline.com. " Gregg was a celebratory person. He would want that."
When it comes to mourning one of the most beloved husbands of the Bravo franchise, we've learned the condolences go way beyond social media.
The Linnethia insider reveals they've been receiving calls all day from people sending their sympathies to NeNe over the loss of her decades-long husband.
NeNe and Gregg remarried in 2013 after divorcing two years before. They originally tied the knot in 1997.
Gregg was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in May of 2018. Despite going into remission following treatment, the RHOA star revealed her husband's cancer had returned in June.
Just days ago, NeNe gave a heartbreaking update on Gregg's condition, telling patrons at Linnethia that he was "transitioning to the other side."
A spokesperson for the Leakes family confirmed Gregg's death today.
"Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart," the spokesperson revealed. "After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes."
Their statement concluded by saying, "We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time."
Gregg was only 66 years old.
