Murder Suspect Arrested in Connection With Republican Councilwoman Gunned Down Outside Her New Jersey Home

A Virginia man has been arrested in connection with the murder of New Jersey Republican Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, who was gunned down outside her home in February, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Around 10:45 a.m. on May 30, authorities arrested 28-year-old Rashid Ali Bynum outside of a residence in Chesapeake City, Virginia, according to Front Page Detectives.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 1, Dwumfour, 30, died after Bynum allegedly fired several rounds into her SUV while her 12-year-old daughter sat inside their home, as RadarOnline.com previously reported.
At the time, witnesses told police they saw a man dressed in black running from the scene. However, investigators have not given any updates regarding the case in months.
On May 30, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said authorities placed Bynum’s cellphone and his white Hyundai Elantra near the murder scene that day.
He also matched descriptions from eyewitnesses and nearby surveillance videos.

The motive for the murder is still unknown, but Dwumfour had Bynum listed as a contact in her phone, The New York Post reported.
She had the acronym “FCF” next to his name, which Ciccone said stands for “Fire Congress Fellowship,” a church Dwumfour was once associated with.
Fire Congress Fellowship is also affiliated with the Champion Royal Assembly, which Dwumfour belonged to at the time of her death, Ciccone said.
Investigators determined Bynum allegedly searched the internet for information about Dwumfour’s church, the town in which she lived and which magazines were compatible with a specific handgun.

A handgun was also found at the Smithfield, Virginia, residence that Bynum returned to after allegedly gunning down Dwumfour, authorities said.
Bynum was charged with first-degree murder and a pair of gun-related offenses, according to officials.
He is to be extradited to New Jersey and then booked into the Middlesex County Adult Correctional facility while he waits for a pre-trial detention hearing in the state Superior Court.
