Former NBA star Metta World Peace, also known as Ron Artest, joined the bevy of celebrities showing support for a new Kobe Bryant-inspired NFT that recently exploded onto the scene, generating major excitement.

The basketball star is only the latest to join the KB24 NFT Discord and promote the new NFT.

Other players who have joined the Discord include Dwight Howard, former Lakers guard Svi Mykhailiuk, New York Knicks star Nerlens Noel, and sports commentator and former NBA player Kenneth “The Jet" Smith.

Nerlens Noel called the KB24 NFT his “favorite community based NFT projects to date.” While Kenny Smith told his followers that he loves what the team is doing “for the MAMBA”.

Kenny Smith surprised fans when the discord was paused momentarily, with a video congratulating the KB24 community for reaching the 20,000 member milestone. DJ and Producer Zedd was even in attendance in the Discord when the team revealed a sneak peak of the KB24 NFT on their Discord at 8:24 PM PST “Mamba Time” leading up the October 8th launch of the NFT.

The KB24 NFT Discord Server

Last week, the team gave away a KB24 NFT for free, $10,000 Cryptodads “Kobe Dad”, Lebron James Topshot Moment, and Lakers/Suns Courtside tickets, exciting members who were eager to get their hands on one of the highly-sought-after non-fungible tokens. Since only 10,000 are being minted, the NFTs are expected to be unique and rare.

With all the buzz surrounding the new NFT bringing Kobe fans together, the KB24 NFT Discord is also growing in popularity, attracting 21,000 members in just over one week, according to the team.

As for getting the NFT itself, the team has unfortunately announced that sign-ups have already closed. But don’t worry, because there are presale slots remaining for Discord members who are active.

“The majority of our NFTs will be allocated to our Discord community via pre-sale in order to get these NFTs into the hands of true KB24 fans and supporters,” the KB24 NFT team explained on Discord.

Metta World Peace Supporting A Good Cause

While the hype is certainly growing around the project, player like Metta World Peace who support the project are doing so for a good cause. Even with all the excitement over the new NFT, the founders, Andy Treys and Sako Waves, say the true root of the project is to honor Kobe, whose death devastated their hometown of Los Angeles and the world.

With that in mind, the KB24 NFT announced that all proceeds from the collection will be donated to Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation — the nonprofit founded in memory of Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

The team says they’re on track to sell out immediately after launching the KB24 NFT on October 8th, generating nearly $3 million for the foundation, which helps athletes in underserved communities.

“To Vanessa, we stand by the mission of the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, and we thank you for creating the opportunity for the organization to positively impact underserved athletes and young women in sports,” the KB24 NFT website reads.

Those interested in the Kobe Bryant NFT can participate in daily contests on KB24’s Discord server.
