'The Mentalist' Star Simon Baker Is Single, Reveals Split With Girlfriend Laura May Gibbs After She Joins Anti-Vaccine Mandate Rally

Simon Baker wants no part of the backlash that's following Laura May Gibbs after she joined an anti-vaccine mandate rally because they aren't even dating anymore.
The 52-year-old Mentalist actor set the record straight after Gibbs was spotted at the Australian protest over the weekend. A spokesperson for Baker tells Daily Mail, they ended their short-term relationship months ago.
Baker and Gibbs sparked dating rumors in February, just one month after he announced he had split from his wife, Rebecca Rigg, after 20 years of marriage.
The actor was last seen with the Australian activewear designer in August. Baker and Gibbs flaunted plenty of PDA during a beach outing in Byron Bay. The pair looked happy and in great spirits together, giving no indication of the breakup ahead.
Baker couldn't keep his hands off the blonde bombshell, who was seen pulling him into the ocean while she was wearing an itty bitty string bikini. Sporting nothing giant smiles across their faces, the couple appeared crazy in love — but not anymore.
Gibbs sparked controversy when she made her anti-vaccine stance known in October, even dragging her activewear brand Nagnata into the mess. Taking to the company's social media, the brand released a statement saying they would not be opening their Bryon Bay location until people without the vaccine could come in and shop.
Posting a photo of three models from different backgrounds, Nagnata declared they wouldn't "reopen when ALL are welcome without fear of judgement." The post also talked about the importance of opposing "discrimination."
Fast-forward to one month later, Gibbs continued her protest at an anti-vaccine mandate rally that took place at the NSW-Queensland border. Of course, she took to her Instagram to declare her stance once again, writing to her fellow supporters, "I'm already receiving messages from sharing these stories from people that have lost jobs, hang in there, you're not alone."

Baker didn't reveal their breakup until after she copped backlash. This isn't the only split he's come clean about this year. While he revealed his separation from his wife in January, they actually broke up quietly in 2020.
“Simon Baker and Rebecca Rigg have announced their separation after 29 years of marriage,” they said in a statement. "We remain close friends and our three children will always be the most important focus of our lives."
