From Critic to Confidant? Meghan Markle's Leaning on Reporters to 'Avoid Mistakes' in Colombia Exposed
Meghan Markle lived up to her rumored "mastermind" reputation on her and Prince Harry's Colombia jaunt, as it has been revealed that the former actress orchestrated her own press and photographers, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"[The trip] was very carefully thought out from beginning to end," royal author Ingrid Seward told The Sun. "For instance, there were chosen reporters [and] photographers.
"It was all very, very tight, and so there was no chance of anything going wrong," she added. "Most of the things they went to, and the few people that they met, had really no idea why they were there. What I went away with was the feeling of why were they there? What were they doing?"
She then pointed out, "And the only answer one can come up with is that they were promoting their own brand."
This news follows reports that revealed the "high risk" visits from the Duke and Duchess to Nigeria in May and Colombia, could have been exactly the kind of thrilling headline the pair were seeking.
"Perhaps, then, these tours offer Harry and Meghan another initiative to highlight: themselves," royal expert Emily Andrews told an outlet.
Harry and Meghan both have numerous in-the-works projects to promote, and some analysts feel that the ex-working royals are taking camera-ready trips for a better way to advertise than a red carpet.
"Glitz and glamor do not fit into the ideological mold they have carved for themselves, which is hilarious seeing as how they live in a lavish mansion in an enclave," a royal insider dished. "They are not diplomats any longer, so it is comical to hear how they try and spin these silly tours as something not about themselves."
They added: "Our supposed evil royals do these tours on behalf of the British government and the nation in question. It is perhaps the most popular form of diplomacy seen in the world. Their finery and jewels represent the best of Britain — not themselves."
Andrews added: "With Harry celebrating his 40th birthday next month and ongoing courtroom battles in the U.K., it does feel like a pivotal time for the Sussexes in their attempts to 'look forwards.'"

To make matters worse, the Duke of Sussex is clueless when it comes to being a businessman and helping the Duchess of Sussex's faltering brand.
This led royal author Tom Quinn to share: "Harry has never had any real idea about becoming an entrepreneur or a businessman in his own right. He is trained from birth to do one thing only — to be a royal, and he has thrown that away."
Meghan's brand launch has now reportedly been pushed back to spring 2025.
