Texas man tried to smuggle cocaine into Indiana inside a Wendy's cheeseburger, police said.

A Texas man was arrested in Illinois after a traffic stop led police to find cocaine in a Wendy’s cheeseburger, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Around 7 p.m. on Nov. 5, deputies were patrolling the area around Road Ranger Travel Center when they said they spotted a man near a vehicle with Texas plates at the gas pumps, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. The man, law enforcement officials said, attempted to hide his face from the deputies, as Front Page Detectives reported.

Police were patrolling a travel center in Illinois when they spotted a suspicious man with Texas plates.

After checking to make sure their lights were working, the driver of the vehicle and the man deputies believed was acting suspicious left the parking lot and drove off.

Deputies followed the vehicle and pulled it over after they said it made a U-turn in the middle of the road. According to officials, the man who was acting suspicious at the gas station exited the vehicle and walked toward the patrol cruiser.

Neighbors of the suspect called 911 for a welfare check after seeing water come out of his home, officials said.

The deputies spoke with both the driver and the passenger, later identified as Jesus A. Garza Trevino.

Trevino told police he was from Laredo, Texas and was traveling to Ligonier, Indiana, but he did not have an exact destination address. He then claimed he would be contacted by someone on where to meet when he was close to the town, deputies said.

Police found a glove in the glove compartment that was filled with a white, powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine.

A K9 officer arrived on the scene and alerted to narcotics odor around the vehicle, officials said. Deputies then searched the vehicle and found a brown glove in the glove department.

The glove was wrapped in electrical tape and when officers cut into it, they found a white, powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, authorities said.

After days on the run, Foreman was arrested by police on Sept. 16.

Officers also found a Wendy’s bag containing a cheeseburger. They unwrapped the cheeseburger and inside found an object wrapped in black electrical tape, which also field tested positive for cocaine, according to officials, who noted the suspected cocaine weighed about two ounces in total and officers seized it.

Trevino allegedly admitted to police that the cocaine was his and he was planning on selling it in Indiana, officials claimed.

He was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance trafficking and delivery of controlled substance.
