Jojo Siwa And Gymnast Suni Lee Join ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 30
YouTube Personality Jojo Siwa and Gymnast Suni Lee are set to join the upcoming season of the ABC dance competition show.
The two will be competing against 13 other celebrities who are set to be unveiled during Good Morning America’s broadcast on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
18-year-old Jojo, who is best known for her TV stint on Dance Moms is set to make history as the first contestant to compete with a same-sex partner.
“To be dancing with a girl, I think it’s so cool,” the Nickelodeon star whom identified herself as gay and queer said in a video announcement. “I can't wait to meet my partner!"
DWTS executive producer, Andrew Llinares, expressed his excitement for the show to be making its history saying, “For the first time ever, we are going to have a same-sex couple on the show, Jojo is going to be paired with a female pro dancer who will be revealed on the premiere. We are so, so excited that Jojo, you’re doing this, and for everyone to experience it.”

Lee, who is also 18, just recently scored a gold medal in the women’s gymnastics all-around event at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She is very keen to display her talents in yet another public performance.
“I really want to win this show,” says Lee. “It’s expressing yourself, even more, when you are dancing, because you've kind of been locked up a little bit in gymnastics. Dancing is super fun.”
Both Siwa and Lee will do a sit-down interview on Good Morning America on Friday to speak further on their participation in the show.
Tyra Bank will be returning to host the show this upcoming season along with veteran judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough , and Carrie Ann Inaba.
The very highly anticipated show will premiere on Sept. 20.
