A high school substitute teacher in Florida, Ayanna Davis, has been arrested after she allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with her underage student.
According to reports, the situation was brought to the public's attention after a sex video of them was allegedly shared on social media.
Polk County Sheriff's Office officials confirmed Davis was taken into custody after being charged with sexual battery on December 10.
The arrest went down after a student reported the video to the Lakeland Police Department School Resource officer.
The detectives from the sheriff's department revealed even more shocking details after Davis confessed she had "unprotected sex" with the student four times - twice at the student's house and twice at her own home.
The student, reportedly under age 16 or younger, had also told the police about a similar account, validating the report.
Following the arrest, the 20-year-old educator was fired from the company that recruited her for the teaching position after they were informed about the incident by the police.
Kelly Education Services representatives explained Davis had been an employee since August 23 and "successfully completed and passed all the required background and screening requirements."
"Polk County School District requires substitute teacher candidates to have a high school diploma or GED," the company issued a statement Monday. "The results of background and screening requirements were cleared by the Polk County School District."
They continued claiming, "First, the safety of students is our highest priority. Ayanna Davis has been deactivated and is not able to accept assignments pending the outcome of the criminal investigation."
Davis was charged with two counts of sexual battery by a custodian and a charge of offenses against students by an authority figure. Moreover, she was also hit with two additional sexual battery charges by the Lakeland Police Department.
Her bond is set at $60,000 as she is being held in the custody of the police. She will face arraignment for the case on January 10.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd expressed his thoughts on the account, commenting, "She was in a position of influence over the victim, and she took advantage of that for her own twisted pleasure.
Another official PCPS Suiperitendent, Frederick Heid, shared his disgust towards the case.
"We expect substitute teachers to uphold the same high standards of conduct and professionalism as our full-time educators," Heid stressed. "The charges against this person are disgraceful and a complete violation of the trust that teachers build with their students. There is no room in our schools for this type of conduct.
