Cuba Gooding Jr. is not worried about about a darn thing – at least that's how the often sweaty actor appeared when he showed up to a swanky polo event in the Hamptons this past weekend.
The 53-year-old Jerry McGuire star arrived at The Hampton Social Live Magazine soirée with friends, sporting a smile, a black T-shirt, white cargo pants, a sweater wrapped around his waist, an interesting pair of sneakers and a long, artsy necklace around his neck.
One would never be able to tell just by looking at Cuba that life is not so peachy for the embattled star.
Just two months ago, his grope accuser won her lawsuit against him after a one-sided, year-and-a-half battle in court.
The woman – Natasha Ashworth – sued Gooding in October of 2019, claiming he repeatedly tried to grope her backside while she was serving him cocktails at her place of work: Tao Downtown Nightclub in New York City.
According to the Page Six, the actor never hired a civil attorney to defend him against Ashworth's claims, as no lawyer was ever listed for him on the case.
After he failed to respond to the lawsuit for over a year, Ashworth filed a request for a default judgement in January.
In June, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Alexander Tisch granted Natasha's request on the claims of assault and battery. He did, however, deny her request for a default judgement on the claim of infliction of emotional distress, citing redundancy.
Tisch suggested that the case be set for trial in order to determine the damages that Natasha is owed, which Cuba's criminal defense attorney, Mark Heller, scoffed at. He said "the claim is baseless and the judgment is worthless."
But this wouldn't be the first woman to come forward with claims of sexual misconduct against the actor.
In fact, he's been accused of such misdeeds by at least 30 women, with some claiming he touched them inappropriately.
Another woman filed a lawsuit against him last year, claiming he sexually assaulted her twice in a SoHo hotel room in the summer of 2013.
Despite allegedly saying "no" several times, the woman claimed Gooding raped her vaginally and anally.
The actor has been criminally charged on six misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse and forcible touching stemming from the allegations of three accusers, including Ashworth.
