While the filing does not reveal the contents of the Snapchat account or describe any evidence recovered from it, it confirms those materials have now been formally produced to the defense.

Prosecutors also noted the accompanying discovery index and related materials remain subject to the court's protective order and have been designated confidential.

As Radar previously reported, prosecutors have alleged Hudson sexually assaulted Kepner before killing her and attempting to conceal evidence of the crime.

Hudson has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the criminal case remains pending.

A federal judge ordered the teen detained pending trial after concluding he posed both a danger to the community and a risk of flight.

The court later issued a supplemental order directing that he be transferred into the custody of the U.S. Marshals while leaving the remainder of the detention order in place.

The government's newest filing offers one of the clearest updates yet on the categories of evidence now being exchanged between prosecutors and defense attorneys as the high-profile case moves toward trial.

However, because the discovery materials are protected by court order, the filing does not disclose the contents of the Snapchat records, FBI files, or other evidence referenced in the production.

Prosecutors also reminded the court that they remain under a continuing obligation to disclose any additional evidence required under federal discovery rules and constitutional law, signaling that more evidence could still be produced as the case proceeds.
