Adam Sandler's Father-In-Law Arrested For 'Carrying A Loaded Gun In His Briefcase' Into Courthouse
Adam Sandler's father-in-law, Joseph Titone, was reportedly arrested at a Florida courthouse on Thursday for having a loaded gun in his briefcase.
According to The Sun, Titone was stopped as he went through a security checkpoint within the Broward County courthouse. He allegedly later admitted to having a loaded gun in his briefcase.
According to the police report, Titone was arrested on a charge of the unlicensed carrying of a concealed firearm - which is a third-degree felony.
The 75-year-old father-in-law to Adam Sandler was released not long after the incident.
"It was an accident. Evidently, I put this gun in my briefcase at one point, intending to take it to the gun range, but that never happened,” Titone reportedly told the Sun Sentinel in an interview. “I forgot he was there. I’ll probably have to go to court to explain it, and I will. This was an honest mistake.”
Titone is a former member of the Florida House of Representatives. His daughter, Jackie, married Sandler in 2003. The couple share two daughters: Sadie, 14, and Sunny, 12.

Sandler once told the Huffington Post in an interview: "My kids give me the most joy, but there are life adjustments. I don’t go out to meet anyone after 9:30 at night. I eat dinner at six or seven. If someone makes me stay out until 10:30 at night, I’m angry the entire next day because I’m exhausted.”
Adam also made it clear that his wife Jackie supports him completely when he needs to film a kissing or sex scene for a project. "My wife is always saying, 'Just get in there. Do a good job. Be nice,’" he once told W magazine.
"My wife loves the women I work with, so she's very like, 'Come on! Make sure you do the best you can. Give it up. It looks crazy when you don't kiss good enough.'”
“I'm very relieved when we do a movie and at the end of the script I go, 'I don't have to kiss anyone!' Anyway, that's fantastic. But when I do, I get it done. I get it done,” he told the magazine.
Sandler has not made any comments regarding his father-in-law’s incident in Florida on Thursday.
