Security Cameras Capture NYPD Dad Abusing Autistic Son Before Leaving Him To Freeze To Death

Home security cameras captured a New York Police Department officer abusing his autistic son before leaving him in his garage to freeze to death. The monster dad and his fiancée were allegedly caught bullying the boy, 8, moments before he died of hypothermia.

RadarOnline.com previously reported that on January 17, Michael Valva found his son Thomas looking ill after forcing him to sleep in the unheated garage of their Long Island home for the night. After showing signs of hypothermia, the boy fell unconscious. At that point, Michael, 40, called Suffolk County police to report that Thomas had fallen in the driveway while waiting for the school bus. When paramedics arrived, however, they found the boy had a body temperature of 76 degrees. He was rushed to a local hospital but pronounced dead soon after. His death was ruled a homicide.

After conducting an investigation and viewing Michael’s security camera footage, police arrested the NYPD officer and charged him and his fiancée, Angela Pollina, with second-degree murder.

On Friday, February, January 31, during the couple’s arraignment, prosecutors revealed that home security cameras used by the pair to monitor Michael’s children with his estranged wife also recorded the tragic final days of Thomas’s life, and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father.

The camera found in the garage, where Thomas and his older brother, Anthony, were often forced to sleep, was labeled “kids room.” Just two nights before Thomas’ death, it captured a video of him and Anthony, 10, shivering as they slept on the floor of the freezing garage.

“They are on cold concrete. There are no pillows, no blankets, no mattress,” Assistant District Attorney Laura Newcombe said during the hearing.

Later on, Angela, 42, was heard asking Michael, “What are you doing?” to which he can allegedly be replied, “Suffocating him, that’s what I’m doing.”

“Take your hands off his mouth, there are people everywhere,” Angela told him, according to Newcombe, who cited the recording during the hearing.

Since her split from the NYPD officer, she has fought to prove he was abusing their kids. After Thomas’s death, she shared various tributes to him and thanked her loved ones for their support.
