Cameron Boyce's cause of death has been deferred due to an investigation, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The 20-year-old Disney actor suddenly died on Saturday, July 6. Just days after his family claimed in a statement that the Descendants actor died in his sleep after suffering a seizure, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office revealed it's now investigating his death.
"An autopsy was performed today and a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation," the examiner's office said in a statement released July 8.
The medical examiner's office confirmed Boyce was found "unresponsive" in his North Hollywood home. Authorities were called and Boyce was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m.
His heartbroken family claimed in a statement shortly after his shocking death that the young actor had an "ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated." The family released no further details.
Boyce began as a child star in the horror film Mirrors at age 9. He is best known for his role in the Descendants movies.
In a statement, his family said, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
