A former pro hockey player and a California mom were found dead inside the AHL star’s Newport Beach apartment.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, police responded to a 911 call from a man who said he’d just walked into his condo to find the bodies of his roommate, Darren Partch and of a woman he did not recognize, this Sunday, April 21, at 9:30 p.m. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County coroner later identified the woman as Wendy Miller of Costa Mesa.
Police are treating the case as a double-homicide, though the investigation is still ongoing. They do not believe the public is in danger, and have no signs that a criminal broke into the former minor league hockey player’s apartment, KABC reported.
The outlet also reported that Miller, 48, went missing on Friday, April 19, after giving Partch, 38, a ride home from the Sandpiper bar in Laguna Beach, where she was last seen.
On Easter Sunday, Miller’s son wrote an emotional post on Facebook announcing her death: “She had been shot and it was told to us that she did not suffer.”
