Supportive father? Days after news broke of Mariah Brown's engagement to her girlfriend, a bizarre tweet from her father, Kody Brown, reemerged. In it, he wrote he would love to officiate his daughter's gay wedding to Audrey Kriss, but assured fans that he was not confirming their engagement.
On March 4, 2018, the Sister Wives star retweeted a comment he made following his daughter's coming out announcement.
"@ohheyitsaudrey is a lovely individual. If Audrey and @mariahlian wanted me to perform their marriage, I would be honored," he wrote, referring to Mariah's now-fiancée.
After flagging the comment, he made sure to write "This is not an announcement," to keep fans from speculating about his 23-year-old daughter's relationship.
Now that the two have confirmed their engagement, however, he is continuing to show his support.
"Congratulations to my two sweeties @mariahlian & @ohheyitsaudrey for their engagement. Another wedding in the works. #LoveIsLove #SisterWives" he wrote on Twitter next to a photo of him with the happy couple.
RadarOnline.com readers know that in 2017, when Mariah first told her family she was gay, Kody, 50, and wife Meri Brown did not have the warmest reactions. On an episode of Sister Wives, Meri, 48, was seen breaking down in tears saying, "I didn't see this coming, I thought I knew my daughter…I didn't."
But a source told RadarOnline.com Meri wasn't the only one that was shocked by the news. "No one knew what Mariah's big announcement was going to be when this was filmed. Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Kody were all also genuinely blindsided by the news," said the insider.
Despite their religious beliefs, the family eventually came around, and now they couldn't be more thrilled with their daughter's engagement!
