A man was arrested and charged with kidnapping missing Olivia Ambrose in Boston, police announced, saying that it was “obvious that she did not go along willingly” with him.
The missing 23-year-old woman was found alive on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 three days after she disappeared.
Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said Victor Pena, 38, was charged with kidnapping in connection to her disappearance.
Pena was caught on camera with another man and Ambrose after she left a bar. Pena was seen with his arm around her “physically guiding and holding on to her,” Gross said at a press conference following his arrest.
Gross said it was “obvious from the video surveillance that she did not go along willingly.”
He said: “Fields were searched” and even “dumpsters” while trying to locate Ambrose.
Boston PD located the “victim alive in suspect Pena’s apartment. Officers made entry and we were able to transport the victim to a local area hospital where she’s under evaluation.”
During the press conference Commissioner Gross said Ambrose was found in Pena’s apartment “standing near” him and the officers “eventually separated them and the suspect was arrested.”
Gross said: “additional charges may follow,” as the investigation and interview with Ambrose took place.
“You never gave up on your sister, your daughter … your loved one,” the Commissioner said at the press conference. “Today was a good day. Ms. Ambrose was found alive. Great police work today.”
