Rosie’s Ex Mother-In-Law Claims Star’s Late Ex-Wife Didn’t Get To See Daughter Dakota
Rosie O’Donnell’s ex mother-in-law claims the comedian’s late ex-wife didn’t get to see her daughter before her shocking death, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
Gayla Rounds, mother of the late Michelle Rounds, who was married to O’Donnell for three years, suggested her daughter was heartbroken over missing Dakota.
“Your heart couldn’t take the fact that you couldn’t see our sweet Dakota,” Gayla wrote on her Instagram.
O’Donnell’s ex committed suicide on September 11, 2017. As RadarOnline.com readers know, Michelle and the former talk show host adopted Dakota years ago.
The two endured a nasty custody battle that resulted in O’Donnell receiving full custody of Dakota.
On Instagram, Gayla painted a grim picture of Michelle’s life before her death. Her mother claimed Dakota didn't know who Michelle was.
“She will know us again someday and she will know how very much you loved her,” Gayla continued.
Michelle’s heartbroken mom also hinted that she believes O’Donnell’s victory in the former couple's custody battle wasn't fair.
“You were given a raw deal and we are picking up the pieces,” Gayla wrote. “Just want you to know that I know you are beside me and I now understand everything. I am so sorry so many of us didn’t listen but I know you had more insight than any of us knew.”
Days after Michelle's death, sources exclusively told RadarOnline.com that she hadn’t seen her daughter in “ages.”
“Dakota wouldn’t even know her if she saw a picture of Michelle,” a source told RadarOnline.com at the time.
O’Donnell and Michelle started dating in 2011 and they married in 2012. Their bitter divorce was finalized in 2016.
