So Sad! Nicole Kidman Reveals Tom Cruise Split Left Her Feeing 'Very Lonely'
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman has opened-up about her relationship woes.
The actress has told how her split from Scientologist husband Tom Cruise left her feeling 'very lonely'.
While she also confesses to having hit a rough patch with current husband Keith Urban while making her latest movie.
The 51-year-old actress told Stylist Magazine that the end of her 11 years marriage to Tom Cruise was very difficult for her.
She revealed: "It was a very lonely and I didn't want to be. So I went, "OK, I'm going to try and meet my partner", and that takes time.
"It can't be working all the time and flitting around the world."
Kidman married Country singer Urban in 2005 and the pair have two daughters together Sunday, 10, and Faith, 7.
However, she revealed on The Graham Norton Show that working on her new movie 'The Destroyer' had been difficult on their relationship.
In the movie Kidman plays Erin Bell a burned-out LAPD detective on the hunt for vengeance against a gang leader.
She said: "It's really a tough, gritty film, which is something I'd never done and I am always looking for new territory to explore.
"And, when you are cast to play the older character you don't usually get to play the younger, but a great thing as an actor is when you get to play both. It was a gift to be able to arc out the whole story for the character."
However, she admitted that tapping into the dark mindset of her character had a negative impact on her marriage.
So much so, that her husband who was eager for the star to finish the thriller, because she got so involved with the character.
Kidman admitted that she became 'a nightmare'.
She added: "'My husband was like, "When is this going to end?" As an actor, you take on things and some you can shed and walk away from and others you can't.
"The character had to seep out of my pores and I didn't know how to perform that, so I just had to live it. I was a bit of a nightmare!"
Fortunately, the couple got back on track after filming ended and adapted back to their old routine.
Kidman also shares an adopted son Connor, 23, and daughter Isabella, 25, from her marriage to Tom Cruise.
