Mel B Left With $936 Out Of $100M Fortune After Brutal Split From Stephen Belafonte

Mel B made a whopping $100 million fortune as a Spice Girl but she confessed that she walked away with less than $1,000 after her bitter divorce in her shocking new memoire.

Her autobiography, Brutally Honest, revealed the dire financial straights Scary Spice found herself in as she divorced Stephen Belafonte.

“In the past 20-something years of my life, I have made more than $100 million. When I met my second husband (Stephen), I had a house and a loft apartment in LA and a good career. When I left him I walked away with $936 in a bank,” an excerpt of the book obtained by the UK Sun newspaper stated.

The Spice Girl claimed that she lost her fortune and her wits while married to Belafonte.

“From being an independent single mum, I became a woman who didn’t know her bank details, didn’t make decisions and had no friendly relationships with old friends or family,” the Sun reported her book said.

“I became a woman who didn’t have her own computer, didn’t drive herself, didn’t know her bank details, didn’t make decisions.”

Belafonte and Mel B have been locked in a bitter divorce, fighting over money and custody for years.

She said she went from having a 10-bedroom mansion, valuable art and high end furniture to living like a pauper as her marriage to Belafonte ended.

“I walked away with nothing but $936 in a bank account and suitcases full of clothes, books and toys. I didn’t care. I was happy. My kids were happy. Finally, after ten years, I was free.”
