Dolly Parton’s Holiday Horror: Singer's Brother Hospitalized In Critical Condition

Dolly Parton’s younger brother Floyd is in a critical condition in hospital in Tennessee, friends claim exclusively to RadarOnline.com.

The 61-year-old, who still lives in the star’s hometown of Sevierville and remains close to Dolly, 72, and their 10 siblings, is said to be battling a mystery illness.

Barbie Coffey, who works at Holston’s Kitchen on Dolly Parton Parkway, is a close friend of the songwriter and has been left upset by the news and hopes he pulls through, although she hasn’t yet been told why he’s in the hospital.

“He's my friend and much loved who stayed in the shadows and out of the spotlight. He's our baby,” she told RadarOnline.com, adding that she is praying for Floyd and is sad she can’t do more to help him.

Barbie revealed Dolly’s sister came into her restaurant recently to deliver the news, telling friends on Twitter: "Stella Parton came in my restaurant to tell me She and Dolly's little brother Floyd us in critical condition at our area hospital.”

The exact nature of his illness is unknown at this time.

Floyd, who has a twin sister Frieda Parton, wrote the number one hit "Rockin' Years" for Dolly and Ricky Van Shelton in 1991 and has appeared in many of her movies and TV series, including Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love in 2007.

He also earned an acting credit for Dolly’s 1984 movie, Rhinestone, in which they stared alongside Sylvester Stallone.

The 12 siblings, born to Robert Parton and Avie Lee, are still heavily involved in Dolly’s career helping to run her many businesses, including the Dollywood theme park Tennessee.

Floyd's illness comes just days after Dolly opened up about her own mortality. "I just hope I fall dead in the middle of a song, hopefully one I wrote, right onstage. I figure I'll sleep when I'm dead," she told People. "At this rate, I will be soon!"
