Abby Lee Miller Breaks Down, Takes Off Wig During Emotional ‘Dance Moms’ Taping
Nov. 9 2018, Updated 9:47 a.m. ET
Abby Lee Miller has been off the small screen ever since she entered prison for fraud charges. Although the Dance Moms star has been giving updates on her cancer journey with fans, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal she’ll be opening up about her battle with the disease if the show returns.
“Abby has been shooting her interviews for Dance Moms,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “She broke down and took her wig off in one taping, it was emotional.”
The insider continued that Miller, 52, has only filmed B-roll, which is supplemental footage, and confessional interviews. Although she has been filming, a network hasn’t officially picked up the show yet.
“Lifetime is still in talks with them,” the insider claimed. “Right now the issue is the cast. The OG girls won’t come back and the mini team can’t really carry the season.”
Miller confirmed filming when she posted a photo in her wheelchair inside her California ALDC studio.
“Grrrrrrrr!!!! Back to the daily grind,” she captioned the photo. “Comment if you can guess what we’re shooting today?#abby #abbyleemiller #abbylee #dance#tvshow #dancemoms.”
The insider continued, “She can’t walk and may never again.”
Miller underwent emergency surgery in April for what doctors believed was a spine infection. She was soon diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
The diagnosis came after she served time in prison. She was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for not reporting an international monetary transaction and concealing bankruptcy assets.
The insider previously told RadarOnline.com that the season is going to pick up from inside the hospital where Miller will build a team from scratch.
“The idea is to have the same format,” the insider said of dancers learning routines before weekend competitions. “Choreographer Gianna Martello will be back and will have a bigger role. Like in some of the episodes where Abby wasn’t around.”
