Aaron Hernandez Cries On Suicide Watch In Prison Call Years Before Taking Life

Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was deemed a threat to his safety and placed on suicide watch just minutes after being taken to jail on June 28, 2013 — four years before he eventually took his own life behind bars.

And now RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the late murderer’s shocking prison phone calls in his moments of terror.

During several calls placed immediately following the fallen football star’s arrival to the Bristol County Jail in Connecticut, Hernandez told his fiancé Shayanna Jenkins, mother Terri Hernandez and suspected gay lover that he was placed under 24-hour suicide watch.

“What’re you on, 24-hour lockdown?” Jenkins asked her fiancé.

“Hell yeah – you get a crack in the window to see light and I got this dude next to me and he’s trying to dig his eyes out at night,” Hernandez responded, adding that he also shared a block with “dope fiends.”

“I’m on suicide watch,” the disgraced football star added. “They think my life changed dramatically and I’m going to kill myself.”

“Every 15 minutes they come check on me and I’m like ‘I’m OK.’ They check on me 24/7.”

Despite Jenkins’ suspected intention to file a lawsuit against the prison for failing to prevent his eventual suicide – she was outraged that he was placed on suicide watch, according to the audio tapes obtained by RadarOnline.com.

“What’re they trying to make you go crazy in there?” Jenkins spewed. “What the heck?!”

Hernandez also informed his mother that he was being monitored as prison officials feared he was a threat to himself.

“They got me on f***ing suicide watch,” Hernandez told Teri, who said she hated to see him “go down the wrong path” and urged him to “behave in there so nothing else goes against you.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Hernandez was found hanged in his cell days four years later while serving a life sentence for the murder of his friend Odin Lloyd. He was just 27 years old.
