Tara Reid's 'Heart Breaks' After Her Beloved Mother Dies

Tara Reid has told fans that her mother Donna has passed away. The Sharknado star posted a throwback photo of her parents' wedding on Instagram on Saturday, October 21, and wrote as a caption, "Today has been one of the most heartbreaking days of my life. My mother Donna Reid just passed away. My heart breaks - who am I gonna call everyday, what do I do?"

She continued, "2 yrs ago I lost my father and I never felt such a pain. Now I just lost my mom. But the one thing I know is they are together again. Mom & Dad, I love you! RIP, your baby girl Tara."

In an August Instagram post, Reid, 42, had shared that Donna, who had been a teacher, was ill.

But the close mother/daughter duo attended the premiere of Sharknado 6 together this summer.

Reid wrote at the time, "So thankful my mother was able to come down the red carpet with me. She’s been extremely sick just got out of the ICU. It has been a very hard year also with having my father pass away. It truly meant the world to me #iloveyoumom #sharknado6."

The American Pie beauty's father, Thomas, died at age 76 in December 2016 and she had hailed him back then as "a man full of life, love, wisdom, and strength. He was not only fun and in good spirits, but he was also one of the best story tellers I’ve ever heard."

The death of Reid's mother happened in the wake of a huge controversy involving the star being kicked off an airplane flight for allegedly causing a disturbance this past Monday, October 15. A shocking video showed Reid leaving the Delta plane, escorted by a stewardess, and carrying her tiny dog.

Reid's flight was on its way from Los Angeles to New York, when it had to return to the gate due to her supposed scandal. But the star insisted to RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview that she was NOT kicked off the plane for bad behavior.

In RadarOnline.com’s exclusive chat on the Staten Island, New York set of her new film The Fifth Boro, Reid said she voluntarily left the flight after the airline wouldn’t allow Beso, her 6-month-old Yorkie, to accompany her in her seat because the space was too small.

“They said, ‘Sorry, you can’t have the dog here. I said, ‘This is ridiculous,’” she explained. "So I got off the plane,” she continued, adding that she got onto another flight immediately after. “If there was really trouble, I wouldn’t have gone on the next plane!”

Tara also posted about the incident Instagram on Wednesday, October 17, writing, "The flight attendant wanted me to put my dog in its carry on and in the overhead bin which was an absurd request considering animals cannot breathe in there. I gracefully declined and deboarded the plane on my own accord without any incident."
