Samantha Markle Begs Meghan For Reconciliation After Landing In London
Multiple public insults, strings of social media threats and a whole lot of drama later, Samantha Markle is apologizing to Meghan Markle for their fractured relationship.
This Monday, the 53-year-old appeared on U.K. morning show Jeremy Vine to tell her estranged step-sister: "I wish things could be different."
Explaining why she lashed out so publicly on the Duchess of Sussex after her wedding to Prince Harry, Samantha said: "My father was being purposely ignored. We were hoping that private channels would be used. When they failed, we went public."
She added that despite the fact that her comments came off as deeply bitter and insulting, all she meant to do was bring the family back together after Meghan, 37, cut communication with father Thomas Markle due to his many embarrassing interviews.
"The goal at that point wasn't just getting closer. It was also about bringing out a very important point that you don't isolate family, you are a humanitarian," said Samantha.
But Vine wasn't having it.
"You want to shame her — that's what it is," the show host replied.
"The public were making a mockery of the family and it had to stop. Perhaps I was frustrated. I was lashing out more at the media," Samantha said, still defending herself.
RadarOnline.com exclusively reported Samantha received acid attack threats after she arrived in the U.K. to confront Meghan last week. While she was hoping to meet up with the new royal for the first time in almost 12 years, sources said it would never happen — a point which Samantha has now realized herself.
"I was hoping that maybe we would have the chance to speak, that she would know I was here. But I don't think that's going to happen," she said on the British show.
Samantha added that their entire family feud would have ended if Meghan and Harry, 34, had only invited them to their royal wedding!
RadarOnline.com readers know Samantha recently went on a rage-filled Twitter rant, calling her step-sister a "Ducha**" as well as faker and heartless social climber. When confronted by Vine about her impolite comments, Samantha said she would "absolutely" like to apologize to Meghan, Harry and the entire royal family.

She even went as far as to sympathize with Meghan, saying that she probably cut the family out because she was hurt by what she read about them in the tabloids!
"I think that perhaps she was hurt – I felt like she should know better than to believe tabloids. But I think quite frankly she probably believed what she was seeing as well, and I guess there's also protocol that you say nothing," Samantha said, attempting to guess why her royal sibling didn't respond to her bizarre Twitter remarks.
"So I think that snowballed unfortunately to a lot of hurt feelings on everyone's part, and I'm hoping that we can have a happy ending," she added. "I think it's been quite hurtful to our family, I can't imagine how hurtful it's been to my sister. But so much of reality has been twisted, is unknown and it's been unfortunate."
Speaking of the rift between Meghan and dad Thomas, Samantha said that it all got out of hand and skyrocketed after the staged photo scandal. But, she said, the point was never to make money off the photos or the interviews!
Samantha also spoke of Prince Harry.
Despite the fact that she sent him an insulting message on his 34th birthday, Samantha told Vine he thinks of her step-sister's husband as "such a gentleman!"
"I would say that she has found her prince," Samantha said of Meghan Markle.
