Rosie's Nightmare! O'Donnell's New Cop Fiancée Refuses To Move In With Star

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Rosie O'Donnell is engaged, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that her much-younger fiancée refuses to move in with her!

RadarOnline.com broke the story that O'Donnell, 56, popped the question to Elizabeth Rooney, 33, in the summer. A family insider close to the couple spilled to RadarOnline.com that despite their recent engagement, they are not currently living under the same roof.

"They are comfortable living apart," said the family insider.

The main reason for the distance is Rooney's job, said the source. As RadarOnline.com readers know, Rooney is a part of the city of Worcester's first-ever mounted police force in Massachusetts — and she just won't give that up, even for love!

Rooney is "certainly not" going to relocate for O'Donnell, said the source.

"Lyz has an amazing job," the insider added. "They don't take a lot of equestrian police officers, so the fact that she was able to make the squad is incredibly important to her."

The insider said O'Donnell and her fiancée spend most of their time together on weekends.

According to reports, O'Donnell purchased an $8 million penthouse in Midtown Manhattan in 2017 She sold her Nyack, New York home earlier this year.

Rooney, a New England native, has kept her engagement to the star under wraps because of her authoritative position, said the source.

"They're pretty private and it mostly has to do with Lyz's job," the insider added.

O'Donnell is rumored to make a triumphant return to daytime television to replace Julie Chen on The Talk, so time will tell if a new television gig could shake up the TV star's serious relationship.
