Judge Delays Deportation Decision In Joe Giudice Case
The judge in Joe Giudice's deportation case may be having second thoughts on whether or not to deport the Real Housewives of New Jersey star.
On Monday, October 1, Judge Ellington was expected to issue a written decision on Giudice's deportation status, but the decision was delayed, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
While exact reasons for the delay remain unknown, Giudice's attorney, Jerard Gonzalez, told RadarOnline.com that the judge "is really thinking about this one," adding "it is a very unique issue."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported exclusively, ICE officials have been pushing for the 46-year-old's immediate deportation. Meanwhile, Giudice has been fighting tooth and nail to stay in the U.S. as he remains in deportation proceedings.
During the last court hearing on September 5, Giudice pleaded with the judge from his Allenwood, Pennsylvania federal prison to let him stay in the country.
“I’ve been here my whole life, I wouldn’t know what to do in any other country,” he told the court. “I want to stay here.”
The judge did note that if he found Giudice was "eligible for cancellation of removal or that he should not be deported, the government prosecutors have a right to appeal.”
Giudice is an Italian citizen who arrived in the United States when he was 1-years-old with his parent.
He is currently serving more then three years on fraud charges.
Giudice's next court hearing is set for October 10.
