Dolly Parton 'Couldn't Wait' To Bed Burt Reynolds In A Movie

Dolly Parton is coming clean about long-standing rumors of a romance with one-time co-star Burt Reynolds.

“I couldn’t wait to jump into bed with Burt,” Dolly admitted in an interview with the Daily Mirror,  pausing before adding “in the movie, not in real life.”

Parton, 72, starred with Reynolds in 1982 movie musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. She was cast as the madam Mona Stangley, proprietor of said whorehouse, while Reynolds played the sheriff with whom Parton’s character was having an affair.

Reynolds, who passed away in Sept. at age 82, enjoyed teasing and flirting with the buxom star even after the cameras stopped rolling, and once noted that it was “wonderful” working with Parton, adding, “I got to work with her for so long that eventually I was looking at her face.”

But Parton says the romance on-screen was as far as it ever got between the sexy stars.

“We were kind of like brother and sister,” she said, “Burt and I had our little arguments and little spats, but we were so honest with each other. In the same way Kenny Rogers and I are.  We held no secrets from each other, we couldn’t fool each other.”

Parton kept up a friendship with Reynolds right up until his death. She admits the last years of his life were some really hard times.

“Burt and I were a good ol’ boy and girl, and I was very sad when he passed away – we were really very much alike. But he had not been in good health for a long time and so I hope he’s resting in peace.”
