Elizabeth Smart’s kidnapper, Wanda Barzee, has not seen her kids in decades, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
A source close to one of Barzee’s daughters, Rhonda, told RadarOnline.com that she has “not had a relationship” with her mother for "25 years."
Barzee helped her husband, Brian David Mitchell, kidnap then 14-year-old Smart in 2002. For nine months, Smart endured torture, including rape, at the hands of her captors. Barzee was sentenced to prison in 2011 and released on Wednesday, September 19.
In 2010, four of Barzee’s six children, Andrea, Derrick, Louree and Rhonda, appeared on television to recall the physical and emotional abuse they suffered at the hands of their mother and step-father Mitchell.
Andrea called Barzee a “monster” who brainwashed her children.
Now 72, the crazed kidnapper appeared old and haggard in the first pictures of her release.
Smart publicly announced on social media that she feels the crazed child snatcher's release is “disturbing” and “incomprehensible.”
A document had also been filed against Barzee banning her from having any direct or indirect contact with Smart, 30, RadarOnline.com exclusively reported.
Smart is happily married and is pregnant with her third child. The survivor publicly stated that she believes Barzee “did not change her sick and twisted ways while behind bars.
