A Sacramento woman’s remains were identified two years after a homeless person was seen walking around with her skull on a stick, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to Fox 40, Sacramento investigators found the body of Mai Ker That, 26, in an abandoned homeless encampment in October 2016.
While the homeless woman is still a person of interest, police have not discovered what happened to Mai Ker That.
“We’re trying to find out what she was doing and who she was with the last week of her life, and that’s our missing place in her timeline,” Sacramento Police Department Detective Scot Krutz told the outlet. “And that could lead us to what happened ultimately in the end.”
The woman’s family provided DNA samples for investigators.
Mai Ker That’s sister, Mai Dai Thao, told the outlet that the now-deceased woman began to fall apart after she suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage years ago.
