Cat-astrophe Coming? Taylor & Joe Could Be Headed For Split With 'Grueling' Film

Could Taylor Swift be headed for another heartbreak?

Now that Swift has signed up for her first major musical project, the big-screen adaptation of Cats, RadarOnline.com has learned super-serious boyfriend Joe Alwyn may have reason to be worried.

Tom Hooper the director has been trying to collaborate with Taylor for years, and now he’s finally bagged her as the star attraction,” an insider told Radar. “This project is going to be demanding and intense and Taylor will have to spend a lot of time throwing herself into the rehearsals and grueling filming schedule.”

While it’s still not clear exactly which role Swift, 28, will play, producers are hoping her giant fan base will bring in some big bucks at the box office.

Filming on the highly anticipated movie, also starring Jennifer Hudson, James Cordon and Sir Ian McKellen, kicks off later this year, and could take several months to complete.

“This is going to be unlike anything Joe’s known,” the source continued. “She won’t have time for him like she has in the past.”

Alwyn, 27, is a British actor, mostly known from smaller, independent movies like Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.

The Cats adaptation is expected to be a big budget blockbuster, much like predecessors Chicago and Les Miserables. Swift could be busy with filming for a long time, not to mention the intense publicity tour sure to follow.

“Joe is used to getting a lot of attention from Taylor, but they can’t be joined at the hip anymore,” the insider added. “Their relationship is about to change in a major way.”
