Joy At 72! Neil Young Marries Daryl Hannah In Private Yacht Ceremony
Three years and one cheating scandal later, Neil Young and Daryl Hannah have finally said “I do.”
RadarOnline.com has learned that the famous pair tied the knot in a private yacht ceremony last week!
According to various reports, Young, 72, and Hannah, 57, actually celebrated their union with two ceremonies: one intimate and quaint, and one large and lavish.
Ron Fugere, a boat captain in Washington’s San Juan islands, told PEOPLE he saw a “small, intimate gathering” taking place on Young’s 1913 vintage boat this July 27. While he didn’t recognize the stars at first, he soon realized it was Young’s 101-foot yacht.
Days later, he saw the couple on the yacht again, this time with many close friends. “We got out the binoculars and looked and sure enough, it looked like a wedding going on,” said Fugere.
“All we could really see was the officiant and the couple because we were some distance away,” he said. “They threw some flower petals and wrapped it up.”
Weeks later, on August 24, the “Heart Of Gold” singer and his bride had a larger ceremony for about 100 guests in the gorgeous California town of San Luis Obispo, according to Page Six.
While Young and Hannah have yet to confirm the happy news, friends and fans were quick to congratulate them on social media, with some even saying they were sorry they could not make it!
RadarOnline.com readers know the stars have faced much backlash over their unlikely romance. When they met, in 2013, Young was still married to his wife of 40 years, Pegi, 65. A year later, he filed for divorce, and began openly dating the younger actress!
Soon, Hannah was labeled a “homewrecker” and Young a “cheater.”
Despite the criticism, however, the duo continued to gush about each other in public, and happily attended various events together—always unapologetic, always flaunting their love.
“We’re very lucky to have found each other. I’m eternally thankful for the opportunity to share my life with her, and she feels the same,” Young told Yahoo in March.
“When we got together, even some of my good friends were negative about it, and I could never understand it,” he added. Hannah is “a wonderful human being, and I’m very lucky to know her. That’s all I was thinking.”
