"It was initially a radio call," Detective Portier told RadarOnline.com. "But then once police got there the victim became uncooperative. He doesn't even want to talk to us at all about what happened. So we can't press charges."

Although Gabel is not pressing charges, police told RadarOnline.com an investigation is still underway.

"Per our policies we still had to take a report," Portier said. "It's being investigated, but because of the level of the victim's cooperation so far even in the initial report, it's doubtful the case will be filed."

Gabel is a retired actor and has listed himself on Instagram as a "domestic violence awareness advocate." In 2014, he published a biography on a woman who escaped "an endless cycle of abuse."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lisa Stelly, 30, filed for divorce from her husband three months after giving birth to their third child.

According to documents in the Los Angeles Superior Court, she cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reasoning for the split.
