Casting Crisis! ‘Dance Moms’ Struggling To Find Students Because Of Abby’s Reputation
Casting for season 8 of Dance Moms has been chaos. Production has been having trouble finding new dancers to appear on Abby Lee Miller’s series because of her reputation, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.
“Production is having a hard time finding new cast members,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “A lot of parents don’t want their children affiliated with Abby.”
Miller, 51, who was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for not reporting an international monetary transaction and concealing bankruptcy assets, is known for her controversial tough-love teaching approach.
The production source continued how old cast members have been contacted to appear on the new season.
“The older girls have been asked, but they all unanimously passed,” the insider said of the Junior Elite Competition Team, which includes Nia Sioux, Kendall Vertes, Chloe Lukasiak and Kalani Hilliker. “Mini team members Elliana Walmsley, Lilliana Ketchman and Maesi Caes are all in talks.”
But a second source told RadarOnline.com how production is undecided on if they want older or younger girls on Miller's team!
“Some people in production want Brynn Rumfallo and some people in production think she and the older girls are too old,” the source said of the 15-year-old. “It could go either way I suppose.”
The insider explained how filming has yet to begin because of Miller’s Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis. She is currently in the hospital battling cancer. RadarOnline.com reported in July that she has two more rounds of Chemotherapy to undergo.

As of right now, they are filming a recovery special for Miller.
“Abby Lee still has a little ways to go before she could film,” the source said. “She’s the same old Abby and in very good spirits.”
